Soldiers go to war and soldiers are told not to make a mess, to execute the high priority subject and to do as little killing as possible. Dont die, dont shoot unless you have too, dont make noise, dont get into a firefight. Dont give away your location. Get your target and get out. Regardless, they each have hundreds of rounds of ammo on them. They each have an absolute minimum of 4 rifle mags with them. Why? Because they are told dont make a mess, do your job and do it well. Get in and get the heck out. But they take hundreds and hundreds of extra rounds of ammo because they know in the blink of an eye they could get into a firefight. Things could go drastically wrong. And no matter what, we will always go in and hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I dont train for things to go right. I dont train for things to go according to plan. I dont train for the bad guys to be out of shape. I dont train in assumption that the bad guys have less ammo then I have. I dont train for the best outcome possible to happen. I dont train for the most convenient scenarios. I dont train to only rely on one weapon. I dont train for the bad guys to fight fair. I dont train for good lighting and nice weather. I dont train with people my size or smaller. I dont train for things to be perfect. I dont train for the best possible situation. I train for a nightmare. I train for the events that have a next to none possibility of happening. I train for the worst possible thing that could happen. I train in hand-to-hand combat with people triple my size. I train in assumption the bad guy is in better shape then me and has a few hundred rounds of more ammo than I do. I train with guns, and if that wont work, I train with knives, and if that doesnt work, I train with my hands. I train to absolutely, completely and utterly dominate my opponent. I train to live, I train to go home at the end of the fight. I am the person they called paranoid, but I like to say prepared. I train tactical and with officer safety first priority. I train to fight as un fair as I can. I train to win. I train for the worst and hope for the best because I plan on going home at the end of every shift.
