Some Other Time~Bill Evans Bill Evans (1929–1980) was an American jazz pianist and composer. (Some Other Time) Music by Leonard Bernstein & Lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. On the Town is a musical with music by Leonard Bernstein and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, based on Jerome Robbins idea for his 1944 ballet Fancy Free, which he had set to Bernsteins music. The musical introduced several popular and classic songs, among them New York, New York, Lonely Town, I Can Cook, Too (for which Bernstein also wrote the lyrics), and Some Other Time. The story concerns three American sailors on a 24-hour shore leave in New York City during wartime 1944. Each of the three sailors becomes enamoured of a particular woman — and of the city itself. On the Town was first produced on Broadway in 1944 and was made into a film in 1949 - although the film replaced all but three of the original Broadway songs with Hollywood-written substitutes. The show has enjoyed a number of major revivals. The musical integrates dance into its storytelling: Robbins made a number of ballets and extended dance sequences for the show, including the Imaginary Coney Island ballet. Leonard Bernstein ( 25/8/1918 – 14/10/1990) was an American composer, conductor, author, music lecturer, and pianist. He was among the first conductors born and educated in the United States of America to receive worldwide acclaim. Betty Comden ( 3/5/1917– 23/11/2006) was one-half of the musical-comedy duo Comden and Green, who provided lyrics, libretti, and screenplays to some of the most beloved and successful Hollywood musicals and Broadway shows of the mid-20th century. Adolph Green (2/12/1914– 23/10/2002) was an American lyricist and playwright who, with long-time collaborator Betty Comden, penned the screenplays and songs for some of the most beloved movie musicals, particularly as part of Arthur Freeds production unit at MGM, during the genres heyday. Lyrics: Where has the time all gone to ? Havent done half the things we want to.. Oh well, well catch up some other time.. This day was just a token, too many words are still unspoken.. Oh well, well catch up some other time.. Just when the fun is starting, comes the time for parting, lets just be glad for what weve had and whats to come. Theres so much more embracing, still to be done but time is racing.. Oh well, well catch up some other time.. Just when the fun is starting, comes the time for parting, but lets be glad for what weve had and whats to come.. theres so much more embracing, still to be done but time is racing.. Oh well, well catch up some other time.. Oh well, some other time, oh well...
