Some Pocatello residents are shaving their head for cancer - TopicsExpress

Some Pocatello residents are shaving their head for cancer research. Mark and Melissa Nelson hosted a fundraiser at The Sandpiper Restaurant, with a goal to raise $10,000 for cancer research. The Nelsons held the fundraiser in honor of their son, Andrew, who died from Neuroblastoma ten years ago. The Nelsons say this fundraiser is to help prevent other families from losing a child, and say losing their hair is a small price to pay if it means saving a life. The event ended with the crowd gathering around the couple as they, with mixed emotion, held hands as their hair was slowly shaved. 92 people supported the cause, also buzzing their hair, and together raising nearly $50,000 for the St. Baldricks foundation.
