Some "S.P.E.C.I.A.L." aspects of our V-AMA are as follows. "S.P.E.C.I.A.L." can refer simply to its Structure, Policy, Ethics, Collaboration, Accountability, and Legality. Structure V-AMA is a non-profit organization. Its organizational structure was set up in compliance with legal requirements for becoming incorporated; indeed, V-AMA has been incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1984 in NSW, Australia. V-AMA membership includes: REGULAR MEMBERSHIP - This category of members is typically represented by Registered Physicians from different States in Australia; ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - Individual professionals can join the V-AMA as Associate Members; OTHER CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP can also be established by the AGM, should it be appropriate and in the best interest of the V-AMA. Policy Put simply, the V-AMA policy consists of the following 4 main points. V-AMA aims and strives: To consolidate the existing spirit of solidarity among Medical Practitioners and other members; To provide the best quality of patients care; To organise and participate in Quality Assurance and Continuing Professional Development (QA & CPD) activities in accordance with Australian Health Authorities guidelines; To contribute to Charity work to help the unfortunates in Australia as well as overseas. Interest of members While serving the community, V-AMA will endeavour to protect and promote legitimate interests of its members. Accountability Aware of its responsibility, V-AMA will hold itself accountable to its members for the quality of the services it gives. Legality of V-AMA Being an incorporated association, V-AMA "receives recognition as a legal entity separate from its members".
