Some exciting news to share...this past Wednesday I received a phone call from the VP of Marketing, Outreach and Advocacy for the National MS Society Ohio Buckeye Chapter. He asked me if I would consider attending the 2015 National Multiple Sclerosis Public Policy Conference in Washington DC in March. I would be a part of a small group from the state of Ohio (3 staff members, 3 volunteers and myself) for this three day conference. He explained that we will be joining staff and volunteers from across the country to urge Congress to support funding and policy changes to spur the discovery, development, and delivery of MS treatments, as well policies that align with the Access to High Quality MS Healthcare Principles. Of course, I humbly (and tearfully!) accepted the invitation to represent my district/area for this worthwhile cause. I will also have the opportunity to share our families story, which is even more humbling and exciting because while I am there it will also be the one year anniversary of Nikkis diagnosis. I am looking forward to his opportunity to be on Capitol Hill, meet representatives and learn more about MS funding and policy changes. I will continue to post updates, especially while I am at the conference. Look at Capitol Hill...here comes a Villella whos passionate about MS :)
