Some may be wondering why all the purple day postings from me. Well today is purple day aka Epilepsy Awareness Day. Why does that matter? It matters because I have a child who has epilepsy, who for the longest time had seizure activity that doctors could not diagnose. We were told at first that as parents we were crazy our child was fine until one day a doctor was able to finally observe what we had been witnessing all along. For a long time after that doctors still would not diagnose Epilepsy in our daughter when in reality that is what she had and still has. As a result of her early experiences she is developmentally delayed yet functioning very well in high school now. So today we wear purple for her and all others afflicted with Epilepsy.
