Any raffle prizes / connections valued Saturday 26th April 2014 - The Game of Twelve Halves A marathon football fundraiser in support of Debbie and Duncan Turvey Lymington & New Milton Football Club, Fawcetts Field AB&C St Peters Football Club (League and Cup Champions 2013, SWEA Churches League) are aiming to play 6 consecutive games of football. A 12 hour challenge in support of goalkeeper, Duncan Turvey, and his wife Debbie. Debbies Multiple Sclerosis has got markedly worse over the last five years. Her mobility has really suffered. The family are now in a situation where assistance and adaptions are needed around the home and most importantly, to the motor vehicle, to enable Debbie to lead as much of an independent lifestyle as her illness allows. £3000 is the fundraising target for this event. Anything in excess of this amount will be donated to The Geoff Smith Foundation, established to provide a better quality of life for Multiple Sclerosis sufferers. Duncan has played local football for many years and is a familiar, friendly face to most that have graced weekend football. This is a chance to come together to support his family at a challenging time. 6 teams will be invited to play (£120 for each team) with the games taking place on the main home pitch of Lymington & New Milton Football Club. Inevitably as the day progresses there will be some tired legs - or at least on the side of the sponsored squad of AB&C St Peters - however, all games are to be officiated and fully competitive. This is to be a true community event - an opportunity for families and friends to come together in support of an important cause. We are aiming for a packed main family stand for each game! Refreshments will be available throughout the day alongside prize givings; team photos; childrens bouncy castle; wives, partners & kids penalty competitions; crossbar challenge; match music playlists and much more.
