Some people say that regulations are bad. Some people say that the free-market will regulate itself because customers make informed choices. Some people say that people will choose to not buy from companies that use sweatshop labor or slave labor. Some people say that people will not buy from companies that pollute, or that these companies can be sued after the fact. Yet, things like this still happen. These people are clearly wrong. People still buy clothes, toys, and electronics made by sweatshop or slave labor because they are cheap. Companies still pollute and get away with it, and even if they are fined or sued it is only a slap on the wrist, a meager portion of their profits and something that they consider a cost of doing business. So what if a bunch of people are getting leukemia? So what if the suicide rates at the factories are so high that many have installed nets to catch people who jump? iPhones and Androids cost slightly less! This is something that you can help to change. -MK
