Some person broke into my car last night and stole my laptop, the clothes I just bought, and apparently they were really into SU membership strategies because they stole my binders as well. I was angry last night and felt violated to an extent. When I woke up this morning I no longer wanted to be Batman and bring the criminal to justice. I had a new perspective. I was parked on a dark, side street of a venue that was apart of an aggressive agenda by the majority to gentrify a once predominantly Hispanic/Black area. Should I really have been surprised that this happened? What do you expect when the more affluent squeezes the have nots out of their resources and political power. Or when they cant even afford to buy food in their own neighborhood but you a visitor can. A weakened lion is still a lion and when backed into a corner will do anything to survive. This reminds me of what continues to happen in South Baton Rouge and similar neighborhoods across the country. The person that committed this crime was probably desperate and thats a sad thought.
