Some preachers insist on a reasonable honorarium for good reason.. A respected and seasoned evangelist told me that he committed to preach at a church crusade for five nites. They said that they did not have a budget for accommodation so he drove more then 70km to and from the venue every evening, using his own money to pay for petrol. He preached his heart out and many got saved. On the final evening they received a special offering for him. Afterwards the pastor and some of his leadership took him to spur and he noticed that the pastor paid for everyones meal from the envelope that he collected the special offering in. At the end of the evening the pastor gave him the balance, about R300. This man works for God for a living. It will take 10 spiritual confirmations, and 7 of them must be angelic encounters, to persuade me to go preach there again.
