Some question about Thai employment contracts. A peculiar thing - TopicsExpress

Some question about Thai employment contracts. A peculiar thing Ive noticed after reviewing a few of them for my friends, is a longer binding period if employee wants to leave company, whereas company retains a shorter notice period on letting an employee go. So e.g. to let somebody go would take 1 month, but if employee wants to leave company he can do so only within 2-4 months time. This would not be legal in some/most EU countries - as both periods would have to match or be in favor of employee, but of course we are outside EU regulations. Just wondering regarding the validity of such a clause. ( NB : This is not related to industry non-compete clause, but strictly about different duration of quitting&let go period notice )
