Some random things that have blew my mind about my new school: 1. All teachers get 1 hour off-campus lunch and are not required to complete before or after school activities such as bus duty, etc. I was told I am there to educate, not babysit. Administrators are responsible for all activities that are outside of the teachers classroom. 2. All students have 1 hour off campus lunch. 3. Any student who does not comply with a teachers request on the first request are suspended, no questions asked. 4. Any student who is in a fight, is suspended 10 days, required to appear in juvenile court and parents are fined 1000 dollars. (they have not had a single fight in 9 years). 5. Every teacher has their own phone line in their classroom. 6. There is no dress code for teachers. You are treated like a professional and expected to act accordingly. This policy has been effect for 65 years and not been violated. This says a lot about treating teachers as professionals.
