Some really good thoughts here behind the Oscar snubs. Its not always the blatant bias that it appears on the surface. It was hard for me to buy that Selmas snub was completely racist (although I agree that its a problem the Academy is heavily white males, a no retirement policy means its not something that can be turned around in one or even two generations), but its very clear that Selma PR campaign was weak. We may not want that to matter, but it matters. Also interesting about the merits of The Lego Movie and also category fraud.
