Some things I have encountered in culture that even some Christians have said and for myself as a solid Calvinist I find troubling so I thought I would shoot some of these concepts out to you. Do you think it is morally acceptable for men to have a desire for their spouse to believe in them? Also I have constantly see posts about women who think that they deserve all these things from their husband wouldnt you say these are either misguided good desires that have been twisted in one way or another? I have a few thoughts on the subjects that I would think would be consistent with the bibles teachings... And here we go.. As for a spouse believing in their husband I would say that the only person that we should put any measure of ultimate belief in is Jesus Christ we can only believe in people as much as we believe in chairs to hold us up but with time, weight, wear & tear it will break. So is it wrong for men to desire this I know to some extent marriage is shown to be a picture of the Gospel so is part of that desire for belief in concordance with Gods design in making us? One of the major differences I seem to detect in this is that for us to some extent our ability is drawn from the level of belief invested in us where as Gods ability does not rest in the level of belief invested in him but by his own righteous right hand he holds us up. As far as women deserving everything from their husband.. surly this is from the devil and a perversion of wemons God given desire for their husband to strive for her.. as men ought but not because wemon deserve it for all that any human being male or female deserves is the wrath of God in hell forever but simply the expectancy and institutionally desire God has implanted in men as something that they ought to fallow though with and love their wifes as Christ loves the Church. As Christ ought to do this not because of the deservedness of people to to saved and loved but because of his desire to please, honor, and bring glory to the Father.. thought that he has loved us. Thoughts?
