Some unbelievably awesome things I learned today (yes TIL from reddit) British submarines that have registered a kill sail back into port flying the Jolly Roger, as Admiral Sir Arthur Wilson, the First Sea Lord of the Royal Navy during WW1, stated that submarines were underhanded, unfair, and damned un-English, and that he would convince the Admiralty to have the crews of enemy submarines captured during wartime be hanged as pirates, to quote Wikipedia. For example, heres HMS Conqueror sailing back into port flying the Jolly Roger after sinking the Belgrano during the Falklands War. The design of the flag being flown. and that Christopher Lee was a part of the Special Operations Executive. Primary role was instigate and coordinate local (mainly France + Poland) resistance prior to main invasion. Also dabbled in espionage and assassination. Lee is quite tight lipped about where he served in particular, as he should be. Opsec is forever. He got stabbed in the lung during this time and can no longer scream. Informally known as the Baker Street Irregulars and the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Now thats a name.
