Some weeks ago I asked about the pros and con of fitting bonnet gas struts. Well I took the plunge and fitted mine yesterday and have to save that I am delighted with the improvement when lifting and closing the bonnet. I took up Paul Teglerizers recommendation to fit 70 lbs force units and they work very well, the gas struts taking the weight after lifting the bonnet about 6 inches. I also opted to use the suggestion of another contributor on Triumph Experience to bolt the bottom ends to the re-inforcement bar (see picture). For the top end I used the holes already available.
