Someone I used to work with commented I should stop putting up profile pics of myself in uniform since Im no longer in service and that its misleading. Not that its a big deal to me, but if its anything to anyone, those days in uniform did mean something to me: its part of who I was, and I had good memories serving with some of the most dedicated and committed people I know-- officers who, despite the s*** they have to put up with at work and the people they deal with, would hold their heads up and carry on, knowing its probably a thankless job. Anyway, okay, if its such a big issue then I will simply replace photos on social networks -- your comments only remind me why you were one of few people I used to call Sir/Maam but never regarded as a leader anyway…versus the people who, although technically were my subordinates, I will never hesitate to break protocol and throw a salute first because of their selfless commitment to the bigger things that matter. You can take this as me trying to be polite as opposed to take your rank and shove it up your a**.
