Someone asked me earlier what I thought made a good leader and what makes them stand out. I didnt have a very good answer earlier and, now that Ive had time to get to the hotel and think about it, I still dont have a good answer. The only advice I can give someone is to pray for your team. Care about the work you do and the people who are doing it with you. Do the following every morning BEFORE you get speak to any team members. I do it during the drive to the office. : 1. Pray for your team. Pray for any personal or professional needs and pray for their development and success. 2. Pray for yourself. Pray that youll make moral, ethical decisions and be a supportive, Godly leader. Pray that you can build an environment that both drives your team members and your business. 3. Pray for your business...even if you arent happy with it that day. Theres no shortage of people that can get results. There is however a shortage of people who can get results using the right methods. Build an environment where morale and success come out of a desire to succeed and not out of fear or worry, care about your people, and remember that God doesnt disappear simply because youre at work. Do those three things and dont spend time worrying about being a good leader. Youll be one whether youre trying to be or not.
