Someone came to me to borrow money, a huge amount and I know that - TopicsExpress

Someone came to me to borrow money, a huge amount and I know that this someone is not working or doing anything at the moment and the borrower had promised that the said amount will be remitted at the end of the month. Today is 10th which means 21 days away. I asked the borrower how ... intends to pay back as there is no form of collateral and.... says I believe God will make a way. Being a realist I wasnt down with that assurance so I told the person the following: 1. I am sorry I do not have the money to borrow. 2. Even if I had I would not simply because I dont want a situation where youd see me coming and youd change direction. 3. It is not ideal to set yourself up for unnecessary insults. Dear friends, the scenario above happens frequently and have caused a lot of disfriendships. We go to friends to borrow money and claim that such amount will be refunded at an impossible time such that when the impossible time arrives we find ourselves in Tom and Jerry race... It is good to believe God but back it up with reality and works. It is most difficult for people with collateral to pay back debts not to talk of the ones without any form of collateral. It is better to tow the line of abeg, bros/sis you get to give me than bros/sis borrow me especially when you do not have collateral....
