Someone sent me this yesterday, and not only are there two totally different proxies for the same period (minimum), the lower one was actually used by the IPCC itself till recently. The excuse given was proxies have improved since then (about 2001). This at best admits that despite the Kyoto Protocol of 1992 which was based at the time on the same consensus settled science of today (despite the temperature since then not following the plan), the proxy records prior to the hockey stick were pretty useless, as otherwise how could they not just be refined, but TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Could this happen in any other area of science? Medicine, engineering, architecture? Would a road bridge built before new technology came out suddenly be discovered to only tolerate a half the weight than it had been thought originally? And besides not being the only example of rewriting major climate foundations over time, not once but constantly, this is the foundation itself. Imagine showing the lower graph to the public in papers and then telling them to pay and suffer to reduce their carbon footprints- theyd spit in your eye and storm parliament in many countries. Its clearly a joke to expect the distant future to be a disaster when they can see its happened already, naturally, and everything was fine. Yes, confound all us lay people with equations, Stefan Boltzmanns, Hadley cells, and the difference between heat and temperature. But if people fiddle and cheat you dont need to have a science degree to see it or need to work out why all the equations in the universe cant make something out of nothing.
