Something Ive been meaning to share and forgotten to. When I went to vote the other day I was behind a 95 year old woman. She handed over her voter registration card and then was asked for an I.D. She said Isnt that it? The clerk then proceeds to tell her that it must be one of the approved forms of photo I.D. The woman responds I havent heard anything about that. She searches through her purse eventually finding, from what I can hear is a nearly expired divers license. What are the chances that she would have renewed it had it expired already? How many elderly Texans would find themselves in that situation? This law creates an undue burden on the right to vote in order to address a problem that is almost nonexistent. This is not how our democracy should work.
