Something doesnt sound right about this. The President said that we (the government, I suppose) need to enroll more children in pre-schools where there is high quality programming. Hmmm.... I remember, back when I was a young kid, hearing about the Russians taking children from their parents and sending them to government schools to be programmed. As a kid growing up back when we actually feared the politics and culture of a communist state, the idea of being separated from parents like that was a terrible thing. Now, though, it is OUR government wanting to separate kids from their parents. Maybe, instead of more government programmed and subsidized day-cares, what we really need is a good economy which rewards success and provides wages high enough that only one parent has to work outside the home.
