Something to energize you up this morning Subject: Conundrum and Irony...A financial Concern and then some... Conundrum (something that is puzzling or confusing): 1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized. 2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims. 3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government. 4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer. 5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about. 6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries. Irony: 1. We constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare running out of money? Whats interesting is the first group worked for their money, but the second didnt. 2. The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever --- to 47 million people, as of the most recent figures available in 2013. 3. Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us Please Do Not Feed the Animals. The stated reason for this policy is because The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves. H/T Rob Sosnowski
