Sometimes I find it difficult to understand the principles some politicians stand for. When decided to pick and choose as it suit us as politicians then the country would definitely suffer because we will just be going in cycles. He then moved on to behave as if the Kuffour government in which he was a minister did not give any thumb up to the EPA. It was his government that initialled the agreement moreover when Prof Stiglitz a laureate in economics as the Kufuor administration to stay off signing to the EPA they stood their grounds and defended the agreement, Akuffo Addo was a leader of the ECOWAS ministerial delegation which visited Massstricht,Holland in 2004 at the invitation of Bernard Bot the then Dutch Foreign Minister and President of council of EU Ministers that meeting was also attended by K.Y Amoako and Prof Alpha Konare the Secretary General of Economic Commission for Africa at the meeting the EPA was discussed extensively and Akuffo Addo was the livewire used to convince other Ministers on the EPA issue.When Prof Joseph Stiglitz came out with proposal,the then Finance Minister Baah Wiredu speaking on behalf of his government said,the EPA was necessary to energize trade with EU and to ensure healthy trade negotiations and efficiency among our local industries.
