Sometimes I wish I could try to help other parents who split and go through a divorce. After just being told I have no self respect for not being with my boys dad and being remarried and looking to one day maybe further our family I ask myself should I really feel ashamed?! I got married when I was 18 to someone who I thought id spend the rest of my life with and we had a child, we are clearly no longer together but he is the best dad and role model for George I could wish for. We respect each other and each others wife/husband and successfully communicate and co-parent but best of all we are great friends. My boy is so positive and happy and the stigma of once coming from a broken home doesnt exist in our house. We make it successful because we both only want one thing. For our son to be happy. No fighting or arguing, and we will still be a part of each others lives forever because we have a child. Parents should never let their child suffer because of their selfish feelings or bitterness. If the life I lead and my situation means I have no self respect then so be it as I love my situation and I love my life!
