Sometimes silence says more than the spoken words. Silence is not just born from desire to not communicate. It is at times a coping mechanism when times are turbulent. Silence is sometimes perceived to be directed towards an individual or individuals, but can also be a vehicle of self preservation. Silence does not mean you do not care. Quite the opposite in certain situations. Sooner or later the silent ones will sing at the top of their voice, but when that time is not present be smart enough to know the difference between caring and prying. Provide a window of opportunity and hold open the door if they wish to come in. Open your heart not your mouth to those you care about. When they are ready they will let you in.
