Sometimes we get too comfortable in our lifestyle and dont see past the surface... I would love to buy $3 worth of God, please; not enough to explode my soul or disturb my sleep, but just enough to equal a cup of warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine. I want ecstasy, not transformation. I want the warmth of the womb, not a new birth. I want a pound of the Eternal in a paper sack. I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please.* I’m afraid many of us approach our Christian faith as if we wanted to buy $3 worth of God. (and then we put the purchase on the shelf and expect it to benefit us at our convenience) I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
