Sometimes you just end up with some damn fine folks that love you so much, you don’t have a choice but to claim them as your Mom and Dad. Popular titles and labels float in one’s mind: “extended family,” “mentor/sponsor,” “foster family,” “star parents,” “parent figures,” or my favorite, “special friends.” Somehow, these classifications don’t mount up to their presence that ‘Is’ constantly and consistently present within my life. This acknowledgement and recognition isn’t to throw blame or judgment, but to honor and celebrate two individuals that have provided me with tools to evolve and grow, to expand and diversify. I don’t know how I ended up with these two goons, but I will say, I wouldn’t understand the vastness of my potential without them. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe these stunning creatures, but if I had to pick a few, I’d go with: humble, unorthodox, boundlessly wondrous, GORGEOUS, understanding, intelligent, compassionate, joyous, and loving. I used technology in a way to shine Light on how interwoven our lives are. How impactful just one Tribe can be to the whole; how the power from one strike from a matchbox can take down and shine it’s light on an entire forest. I’ve asked a handful of friends and family from all corners of the globe to shine light on your special days. May you bask in the Glory of YOU. You both deserve every moment!
