Son is doing remarkably the nurses and one of his doctors said this afternoon. He was up in his chair a couple of times and went for a long walk down the hall. They said usually the first day is just to get the patient to the chair. He has a tube through his nose to his stomach, 2 ivs, a catheter, and 2 drainage tubes. The tube in his throat has made his throat really sore. I expected him to really be complaining about that one but he wasnt too bad about it. So far Im impressed with St. Vincent. He had 3 surgeons. One is a younger female and she is absolutely great about explaining things. Ive never had a doctor explain things so thoroughly and shes not in a hurry.
