Sonawari stands abandoned by NC: PC Srinagar, June 17 (KNS): Peoples’ Conference has expressed dismay at the fact that Sonawari Constituency has been virtually abandoned by the local elected representative from National Conference. Peoples’ Conference leader, Sheikh Qawam-ud-din Shilwati, who concluded a four day long extensive tour of Sonawari Constituency said that the state of governance in the constituency was shocking and the very basic needs of the constituents stand summarily ignored by the MLA and the ruling party. The PC leader from Sonawari visited Udina, Nowgam, Shadipura and Sadhunara areas of Sonawari Constituency and held meetings with locals, PC workers and supporters who apprised Shilwati of local grievances and issues. Shilwati who was accompanied by Advocate Ghulam Hassan Dar, Ghulam Mohammad Parray, BashirHussainMalla and Ali Mohammad Bahaar, while speaking to locals in Udina, Nowgam ,Shadipura and Sadhuranaara, said that Peoples’ Conference, under the dynamic stewardship and vision of Sajad Lone, has pledged to bring about a real Change in the system of governance and politics in J&K. The party believes in changing the system, rather than pandering to power lobbies and compromising on the State’s political and economic dignity, as has been done by National Conference. While speaking to locals in Shadipura, Shilwati exhorted the youth of Sonawari to rise and reclaim their dignity by electing Peoples’ Conference into power since PC is the only credible and morally acceptable political alternative to National Conference. The role of NC in the history of this State is one of manipulation, treachery and socio-economic exploitation of the poor and PC believes with conviction that unless NC is voted out of power, Kashmir’s miseries will keep compounding. ..........................................
