Song of the Day: Telephone (2008) by Cape Breton-based Mardeen. I cant say Im really on board with overtly indie-rock arrangement or aimless instrumental outro.... However, if you can look past all that, youll find pure pop perfection. It was recently covered by Mo Kenney and has been getting good spins on CBC Music. This tune/melody is like the bastard child of Paul McCartney/ Neutral Milk Hotel / Death Cab for Cutie. Dudes a great songwriter.
