Sooooooooo I went to my first Elon University theatre production last night, Titanic! I gotta tell you, since I was 14 years old, and my parents got me the OBCR for Titanic on Broadway, I was hooked! For the past 15 years I have listened to that recording over and over again, I know every note and every lyric. Since I had never seen it before, the little director in my head created an entire story and visual of what the show would be. I was really nervous about going and finally seeing it, and I have to tell you -- I WAS BLOWN AWAY! HOLY CRAP! I have worked a lot with the Elon MT students, and quite a few friends within the company...but DAMN -- it blew me outta my SEAT! Not only was the acting and the dancing and the singing top notch -- the costumes and the set were out of this world. It was unlike any other college production I have ever been to. BUT....the most incredible part of that show, something that really took my breath away and I verbalized Wow quite a few times, was Bill Webbs lighting design -- OH. MY. GOD. I have to say for the past 10 years of my experience shooting MT productions, this is the best lit show I have ever seen. [and it killed me inside I didnt get to photograph it! hahaha] If you have the chance to make it out to Elon and see this production, it is a MUST!
