Sorry but my anger is very big now, see the hypocrisy of the US policy. From today 30 January 2014 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), has blocked access to its services for users in Iran, under the pretext of nuclear issue !!! What a shame.. Some truth about what the mainstream media dont tell you, because according western and US etc. propaganda against Iran all these restrictions are only made by the Iranian government (with the hope of course to provoke the Iranians against their government). But Iranians are clever, since a long time we know exactly what is going on. Critical media often consider Internet freedom as one of the examples of violations of freedom of speech in Iran. US politicians, including the President Obama speaking out against internet censorship in other countries, while at the very same time supporting policies that censor websites in the US and in other countries. Few points about the limitations of the Internet in Iran. Internet in Iran is not solely restricted by Internal restrictions but the western powers and the USA are also involved in limiting internet usage in Iran. For example, NVIDIA Corporation is selling many of its products to Iran, but it does not allow Iranian users to update their drivers. Or Google has an open source license for all, but has deprived Iranian users of its features. Or Samsung sells many tablets and cell phones in Iran but restricted Samsung Apps for Iranian Users. Also, the Google Market place is banned, Nokia Ovi and updates are either. Also, many scientific journals do not allow Iranian universities to use their articles like Proquest. So to circumvent all these censors against Iran, many Iranian corporations and the private sector have made famous and popular alternatives. What you must know too, over the past eight years, the number of Internet users in Iran has grown at an average annual rate of approximately 48 percent, increasing from under one million Internet users in 2005 to around 23 million in 2008. This rate of growth is higher than any other country in the Middle East. And Iranian bogs are the most active in the world. Full Internet service is available in all major cities and it is very rapidly increasing. Many small towns and even some villages now have full Internet access. Also know, over 45 million Iranians have their own mobile phones. In 1993 Iran became the second country in the Middle East to be connected to the Internet, and since then the government has made significant efforts to improve the nations ICT infrastructure. Since its inception, the internet has experienced exponential growth in Iran growing at an average annual rate of approximately 48%, increasing from under one million internet users in 2000 to around 43 million in 2012.
