Sorry for the lack of proper explanation: the lit up area at the bottom is a normal area... The lit up area right in the middle is the tumor. In the first scan, the brain and the tumor are drastically enlarged because of swelling which actually enlarged her entire skull. This was taken days prior to her stopping breathing and her subdural shunt placement. There are obviously additional scans which are not shown here, including some that were taken after her shunt placements which show a large gap in between her brain and skull (which is now gone), and a hematoma which has been healing as well! The entire thing was lit up, now it looks like the area around the top might just be scar tissue, and because the brain is so hypermetabolic they do not believe theres any way to tell the difference between dying and active cancer cells. Also, as you can see, it is located directly in between the carotid arteries and at the center of Willis Circle in the brain, which is why (even outside of the U.S.) direct intratumoral injections or any further resection are not likely.
