Soundbites Iris walks confidently holding our hands through - TopicsExpress

Soundbites Iris walks confidently holding our hands through the busy cafe area and out of the front doors of the Arts Centre with a big smile on her face. Her blue cape dancing along with her. She had listened to a small choir, a Cello and a piano played by the Leicester University Musicians. Unfortunately I think we just missed the violin at the beginning. The violinist came to sit down infront of where we were, Iris couldnt take her eyes off the instrument, saying in her quiet voice, V, violin then it was packed away in its case, I whispered to her that it would come out to play another day, starting to feel rather hot worrying about the impending outburst of emotion but she just smiled at me. She looked over to the student playing the piano so beautifully and she was content. Her next challenge was some noise from some of the crowd that she had to deal with but she managed and was able to enjoy herself. This time we had some seats at the back and she had some more space to play with some toys while she listened. These Soundbites as they call them suit us perfectly as you are allowed to go in and out, move around if you need to, eat lunch from the cafe, its all very relaxed and filled with acceptance and a love for music. It allows us to help Iris practise her skills in areas that she found so hard. le.ac.uk/embracearts
