Sources at DEFRA say that Chief Vetinary Officer and Chief - TopicsExpress

Sources at DEFRA say that Chief Vetinary Officer and Chief Scientific Officer have concluded that there is a 66% fall in badger numbers... Paterson would have us believe this is due to a harsh winter (which failed to affect anywhere outside the pilot cull zones), disease (though he fails to tell us what disease, and as no badgers killed during the cull will receive post mortem to determine infection, Id like to know how he knows this) and a lack of food (which is strange as badgers are omnivores and the last thing theyre going to lack is available food sources... Other less-adapted animals would also be in decline if this was the case; which it isnt)... So, why has the population dropped by 66% inside the cull areas alone? And doesnt killing 70% of the remainder put them in serious jeopardy? I wonder what could have happened to them and whether the government plan to do anything about it...? thewestonmercury.co.uk/news/badgers_dumped_in_river_as_cull_extended_1_2903166
