South Africa is perceived to be an advanced sophisticated - TopicsExpress

South Africa is perceived to be an advanced sophisticated economical hub in Africa. Without any doubt, we have Corporations that can compete globally. We have infrastructure that matches most first world countries. Sadly, we lack with productivity, we are unable to compete. Our labour has issues, we have an extremely high unemployment rate, our government is so corrupt and crime is on the increase. Our only option is to work towards growing our economy. This would mean job creation. This would mean skills development. This would mean being competitive in world markets. Government cannot do this, what they can do is pass on incentives and establish skills training centres. Agriculture will also be a dominant industry in the years to come and here again, one needs to look at skills development. So with all the strikes, rising costs and uncertainty, the future looks bleak. While the rest of Africa with all its corruption is moving forward, we are living in a country that has so much potential and nothing to offer. Our mindset has to change as a nation. Government has to start taking ownership. Big business got to start investing on our people instead of capitalising on other African markets. BEE is to teach a man how to fish, its not to give him a luxury car, suit and office chair. BEE is for the man on the street, create jobs, provide skills. While we sit and complain about the system and our sad economy, think about this, WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR SELF AND SOUTH AFRICA IN FIVE YEARS? And dont be fooled. This is not a black or white thing, this is something that every South African has to think of. We need each other to grow as a Nation. #freedomempowerment
