South Australia -- SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - UPDATE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for DAMAGING WIND For people in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of the Flinders and North East Pastoral districts. Issued at 3:45 pm Thursday, 29 August 2013. Squally showers and thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Maitland, Clare, Mount Gambier and Murray Bridge. Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Lower Eyre Peninsula and Eastern Eyre Peninsula districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED. Damaging winds gusts of 90-100 km/h have occurred early this morning at several locations including Kadina and Mount Crawford. Localised wind damage was also reported at Wallaroo. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Move cars under cover or away from trees. * Keep clear of fallen power lines. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby. The next warning is due to be issued by 6:45 pm. If severe thunderstorms develop in the Adelaide Region, a more detailed Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued to people in this area.
