South Yorkshire Police are working in partnership with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue to establish the cause of a fire at the Asos warehouse in Grimethorpe, Barnsley. Emergency services were called to the warehouse in Park Spring Road at around 10pm last night to reports of a blaze. Around 500 workers were safely evacuated from the premises and nobody was injured. Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Steve Handley said: Police are currently investigating a fire at the Asos premises, in partnership with our colleagues at South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. It is too early to say what may have caused the blaze and all lines of enquiry are very much open. Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 1210 of Friday 20 June 2014.
