Southern Cluster Parents/Guardians and Community Members, We want to be sure you are aware that all 5 southern schools in ISD 728 (Hassan Elementary, Otsego Elementary, Rogers Elementary, Rogers Middle School and Rogers High School) have begun the process of addressing overcrowding in each building. District policy (#4004) is triggered when buildings reach 110% capacity. Committees have been formed for each school, including parents and staff, and have met twice to discuss possible solutions to the overcrowding issue. The committees from all five schools held a combined meeting on Thursday, January 9th to develop possible short term and long term solutions. These ideas were brought forth to the school board on Monday, January 13 for further analysis and consideration. The lists of potential solutions are not prioritized. There will be a Community Cafe meeting on Thursday, January 30, 7:00pm at Hassan Elementary for all interested community members to attend to hear more and share feedback regarding possible solutions to the overcrowding. The next steps in the process after the January 13 meeting are: · January 27 - School Board Meeting - the School Board will provide feedback on the building committee recommendations and provide direction on taking the recommendations out for community input · January 30 - Community Cafe - (7:00pm/Hassan Elementary) the building committee recommendations will be presented to the public to gather feedback · February 10 - School Board Meeting - the building committees will present a final recommendation for Board consideration · February 24 - School Board Meeting - the School Board will take action on the final recommendation View full presentation: https://docs.google/file/d/0B4gUF-1rMel3bnZvWk40QkFWdzQ/edit
