Sowell takes on marxism, immigration, the Fed, Dodd/Frank, income inequality, the impact of slavery, and more! He even gets into the issue of of Black Leaders (i.e., Jackson and Sharpton) and their motivations. You dont have to agree with Sowell, but you do need to listen to him. He challenges the myriad assumptions that impact the way we think, vote, and live. These things also impact the way we view and do ministry. What we believe about peoples fundamental obstacles has everything to do with how we attempt to help them overcome. Sowell is not gospel-centered in his approach. However, he is fundamentally anti-marxist. This is important since marxism (specifically, Gramscian neo-marxism) is the primary obstacle we face today. Unfortunately, these ideas are so entrenched that we dont even realize they are there, let alone understand how harmful, illogical, unconstitutional, and unbiblical they are. - Voddie Baucham
