Soylent update: using up the last of my soylent tonight. a week seems too short to have a good grasp on the effects of it but all in all id say its good. dosent sound very exciting but its why one would choose soylent to begin with. for a lot of people 2 out of 3 meals are just hassles. for me its especially true with lunch at work and being tired when its time for dinner. breakfast is easy since i always just have some texas toast. So, id recommend this to anyone, unless they are very opposed to the idea in the first place or love cooking. Whether you see this as something revolutionary in your life is your call. the body is very adaptable and, to paraphrase founder Rob Rinehart, we arent trying to make somthing ideal. biology and nutrition is far from a closed field. what we want to provide is something better. people survive on far worse. There have been plenty of divisive articles on Soylent, which i enjoy the philosophical and sociological take on it but at the end of the day this is a tool. I just wonder what it says about me, that im totally okay and willing to forgo the majority of my meals for the sake of ease and efficiency... very exciting huh? after this short time i feel dependant on it. Call me lazy or boring but i dont want to dedicate myself to make smart food choices all the time or spend time cooking and piecing together meals for one person. Is this a bad thing? maybe, but is getting adequate nutrition bad? of course not. this is a tool. it works, and ill continue to use it. as it stands 2 weeks worth a month seems reasonable until the price is lowered. if 10$ for a days worth of nutrition seems outrageous to you than this isnt for you. although they sell so called meal replacements in grocery stores that arent fully complete and have shit loads of sugar, interesting isnt it? Go Soylent!
