Soz addresses public rallies in Sheeri Srinagar, Sept 1: State Congress President Prof Saifuddin Soz visited Sheeri Narava (Baramulla) and addressed a largely attended public meeting of party workers. According to a party spokesperson Soz was accompanied by MLC Gulam Nabi Monga, ex MLA Shoiab Nabi Lone, Gulam Mohammad Sherwani and all the block president of the areas. On the occasion a prominent social activist of the area Ghulam Hassan Rather joined Congress along with eleven Panchayat leaders. Another prominent leader of the area Bashir Ahmad Shah who is a also a Sarpanch had already joined Congress. On the occasion both Shah and Rather, told the gathering that they joined Congress ‘as this is the only party which can solve the problems of the people.’ While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, Prof Soz said, “There is no bigger role for them in the Congress than joining me in my campaign to promote the spiritamong the Congress workers of serving the people and solving their difficulties of day-to-day life.” Prof Soz congratulated party workers that the Congress had succeeded in explaining its manifesto of service to the people throughout the state and its because of the that Congress had become a vibrant situation in all the three regions of the State. He emphasized that Congress has been recognized as the most acceptable political party even in remotest corners of the state. Prof Soz explained to the people that J&K PCC has proved its commitment of values in public life rather than indulging in gimmicks He also congratulated the people of Kargil for their appreciation for policy and programmes of Congress on the basis of which they achieved a great success in Kargil for the first time. On this occasion the cadres of NYC thanked Prof Soz for his efforts in seeking extension in their service from the Central Government.
