Spare the rod and spoil the child is an old testament admonition. I dont know about you but I dont live by the OT laws. That said, the concept of disciplining your children is still valid. We have far too many undisciplined children running around. Still, parents have a responsibility to look at all aspects when deciding when and how to discipline. I chose to spank my kids sparingly and only when I thought the offense warranted it. That usually happened when they did something that hurt someone else. Pain for pain if you will. However, I most often used other methods of discipline. I do think parents should have the right to chose whatever form of discipline they deem appropriate, within reason and short of being abusive. To sum up my beliefs, if you cant get your disciplinary point across to your child without bruising them or bringing blood YOURE A PATHETIC FAILURE AS A PARENT!!!
