Sparking to honor a loved one!! Love Leann I want to share a small communities story with you that inspired so many. A woman in our community (who happened to be my step childrens grandma) passed away last week. Ellen was an amazing, selfless woman who loved everyone and really embraced giving to others, especially children. She worked as a custodian at our local elementary and treated each child as she did her own grand babies. At 51 years old, she passed away in her sleep last tuesday after attending my step sons baseball game. Since her passing, her loved ones began an effort to let her legacy carry on. Her family created the live, laugh, love like Ellen page and has rallied around doing small pass it forward gestures with small notes that say #loveLikeEllen. These things include leaving boxes of bubbles and chalk at our local parks, paying for a strangers coffee, leaving quarters at gumball machines, laundry mats and on carts at local grocery stores that charge to use the cart, buying children ice cream from the mr. Softee truck, paying for groceries for an elderly person. This movement has inspired those who did not even know her but felt the human spirit in her memory because of the acts of those who loved her so dearly. It is a true testament as to how much she touched so many lives and continues to do so through the random acts of kindness through others.
