Speaking of zones, why dont we create our own? We could call it something like Feast of Laughter (Feast of Lafferty kind of implies saithood, and in deference to his Faith, I dont think we should play with that lightly). We could each contribute an article or essay or poem or other appreciation. Perhaps Lissanne and/or R. Ward Shipman could contribute a splendiferous cover. Maybe we could even throw together a quick and dirty PDF first issue by Laffertys centennial. Whaddayall think? Ill start off with the first submission of an original (if not high quality) sonnet: To talk on Lafferty for one whole day Would call for no great effort on my part There really is an awful lot to say And any phrase for mes a place to start Expound on archetypes both old and new And how for character they often stand And how repeated phrases form a glue To lead us through a story by the hand A writer steeped in deep mythology Theology Medieval, erudite A Catholic writer of philosophy Who went at last most faithful into night. But wiser heads perhaps should have their say Before I ramble on for one whole day.
