Special Assembly on Makar Sankranti conducted by class 1-A on January 14, 2015 A special assembly was conducted by the class teacher and students of class 1-A at school amphitheatre. The focus was on awareness of the religious and geographical significance of the festival, the inter-relationship of the two and how the tilt of the Earth’s axis and its movement affects the agrarian communities. The students did an admirable job of creating this awareness by reading out a script prepared by the teacher. This was followed by a dance performed by the students to a medley of Telugu and Hindi songs. The pics which follow will show the effective use of the stage by the students, the whole class participated in the assembly and they were judiciously placed utilising the space effectively and bringing a different perspective to the A special presentation of prizes won by our students in various competitions was made on the occasion and our Principal shared some thoughts on the topic of Makar Sankranti and the important event of canonization of blessed father Joseph Vaz. The students later went around the school distributing til-gul and flower garlands to all the teachers, admin staff and helpers to celebrate the festival.
