ADMU FREE Registration! click bit.ly/19zEfdU Abstract Many cities in the world, including greater Manila, are suffering from many ills linked to the dominant use of motor vehicles in daily mobility : air pollution, traffic congestion, accidents. We will present some of the measures implemented in Europe, especially France and Germany, to improve the quality of urban life through “green” transportation policies. Then we will have a look at some accomplishments in selected American and Asian cities like Japan, before suggesting some ideas on how to improve the situation in Manila through an adaptation of foreign successes to the specificities of the Philippines capital region. About the Speaker Prof. Yves Boquet is a professor of geography at the University of Burgundy (Dijon, France). He also serves as the Associate Dean of the Universities’s Faculty of Social Sciences.
