Special Needs Dentistry involves patients with intellectual or physical disability or other factors that inhibit them from attending other dental clinics. Melbourne Dental Clinic has been primarily set up to improve oral health care of many under serviced parts of the population including all those with Special Needs. The four Specialist Suites at MDC allow for extra space for a carer to be present and are fitted with specialty equipment. The specialist clinics are also wheelchair friendly and set up so that patients can be transferred to the dental chair using a hoist. The clinic also enables access to Ambulance trollies for patients transported into the clinic.
