Special Report Carazo, Nicaragua – Kevin Steiner of Christian Aid Ministries makes the name of that organization real here in Nicaragua. A practicing Mennonite, Kevin, following the mandates of the leaders of the organization, helps a lot of different people, Christian, denominational or non-Christian. Since his arrival here over five years ago Kevin has shaped the efficiency of their work and provides nearly perfect reports every month. For us, The Sowers, he has been like a brother. He offers help when he sees the need. When the 4000 books arrived he personally brought them over and helped me distribute them. He used his truck, one of his men and his handy camera to do the job. When he noticed that we were a little slow in moving the rest of the books he came back and helped again. This time he even took us to lunch afterward. We started receiving medicine from Christian Aid in 1994. Since then we have distributed tons of medicine. When I had to go to the States for cancer treatment Kevin even took over handling our clinics at his cost. We provide “Working Money” to one of our clinics. Kevin even provided that money. In our last report we spoke of the Ecumenical work being done here in Nicaragua. Kevin’s group tops them all as far as I can see.
